Numbering multiline equations

Version: 3.5x, 4.x, 5.x - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word

When you typeset in SWP and SW, you can

Equation numbers are not generated if you don't typeset the document.

Numbering selected lines of an equation

  1. Turn off automatic equation numbering:

    1. From the Tools menu, choose User Setup and choose the Math tab sheet.

    2. Check the box labeled Automatically Number New Equations and choose OK.

  2. Create the display.

  3. To number a line in a new display,

    • Place the insertion point at the end of the line you want to label and press Tab.

    or

    1. Select the display and choose Properties.

    2. Select the line number for the line you want to number.

    3. Choose Auto and choose OK.

  4. To remove a number from a line in an existing displayed equation,

    • Place the insertion point at the end of the line you don't want to label and press Tab.

    or

    1. Select the display and choose Properties.

    2. For each line you don't want to number, select the line number and check None

    3. Choose OK.
